A Parenting Coordinator can make a binding call. That is the part most people do not expect.
Parenting coordination determinations are not suggestions. When an agreement is stuck, the parenting coordinator has the authority to issue a written decision that resolves a specific dispute and keeps things moving. If the Parenting Coordinator lacked jurisdiction, or if the parenting coordinator made an error of law or mixed law and fact, the decision can be reviewed by the court. It remains binding and, once filed, the determination is enforceable by the court.
What happens when a parenting plan is not followed?
When agreements break down, enforcement processes help restore structure and accountability. Courts enforce. Sometimes that is not the best option given the delay, stress and expense involved.

Identification of not following the order or agreement and correcting implementation
Identify where agreements and orders are ambiguous and implement structure to follow the order or agreement.

Structured resolution steps
A step-by-step process to address non-compliance before it escalates into a larger conflict.

Coordination with family law
Work transparently alongside both parties' legal counsel when court directions and enforcement are required.

Child-focused outcomes
Every decision focuses on the best interests of the child, prioritizing the child's stability and well-being above all else.
A binding written decision from your parenting coordinator moves the issue along
When you're stuck on a specific issue, a determination gives you a clear answer — without going back to court. Sometimes the best interests of children require a decision to be made in their best interests without delay, stress and cost. The parenting coordination process is structured for efficiency, not endless consultation. Parents can review determinations and they can return to court as the process is not suited for every family. Family violence cannot be perpetuated through parenting coordination and if the structure cannot adapt, the matter must return to court.

What to do when Parenting Coordination agreements are ignored?
Reaching out for an explanation to your co-parent is free and expected. There may have been a misunderstanding and rattempting to resolve the issue between yourselves first saves fees and stress. Reach out to the Parenting Coordinator and copy your co-parent to assist with the implementation of the agreement. Parenting Coordination fees can be reapportioned, but the court controls enforcement if needed.
